What this Base64 tool does

Encode and decode Base64 with full UTF-8 support — emoji, accents and any Unicode text survive the round trip. The conversion happens in your browser, so nothing you paste is transmitted.

How it works

Encode. Text is converted to UTF-8 bytes, then grouped into 3-byte blocks and mapped to Base64 characters.
Decode. Base64 is decoded back to bytes and interpreted as UTF-8. Invalid Base64 or non-UTF-8 bytes are reported as errors.
No padding surprises. Output uses standard = padding, and decoding accepts padded or unpadded input.
Not encryption. Base64 is an encoding, not encryption — anyone can decode it. Never use it to hide sensitive data.
